She's 10 Months Old!

This is what a ten month old photo shoot looks like now that she is a mover and a shaker.  I started out on a blanket on the couch...

That lasted all of .3 seconds and she was off.  I tried that a few times before just realizing this is who my baby girl is right now and I am going to just snap away and show her doing what she does best...moving everywhere!

Must have that bowl...

Let's try standing...
We are getting pretty good at that!

And it is oh so funny!

And we're off again...

Her favorite trick...
Standing on her hands and feet.

Climbing all over mama...

And thinking it is so funny that mama wants to take pictures!

Oh this girl...
She makes me smile!  I am so in love with this cute little thing!  She is doing lots of fun things now and has quite the little personality.  Here are a few things about our girl...

She LOVES her brother.  I am sure I write about this every month but seriously, she is in love with her brother.  I hope that never changes!  If Carter goes to play in his room, she immediately follows.  They can spend so much time playing together in his room!  Last night they played in there the entire time I was making dinner.  I love it!

She is still a tiny little thing.  She weighs 15 pounds 6 ounces which puts her in the 2nd percentile.  She was barely on the chart.  In fact, when Dr. Wilson first looked at his computer he didn't think she was even on the chart.  Then he looked closely and said that she was, just barely.  He wasn't worried but he did say that we want to keep her on the chart.  He was a little hesitant in his tone so I was a bit worried but he reassured me that she is fine.  I have been working on trying to fill her up with healthy but filling foods.  We have also been doing a little formula right before bed, after nursing, to try to fill her up a little.  She is healthy, just want to make sure she is getting enough food.

She is always willing to give almost everyone a smile.  She loves being talked to and interacted with and flirts with everyone walking by.  I can't walk through even just one aisle at the grocery store without someone stopping to talk to her.  She just catches their eye and starts flirting away with that sweet smile.  I love that all the older men in the grocery store love to stop and talk to her.  I hope that it is a bright spot during their day.

This last month is the month that she started standing up against the furniture.  She was a little behind in that area but has caught up.  She is also pulling herself up to her knees and even to her feet sometimes from a crawling or sitting position.  She is not walking around the furniture yet though.  She failed that part of her nine month well baby check-up but again Dr. Wilson wasn't concerned at all.  She is perfectly healthy and normal but just taking her time on a couple things.  She is starting to get much stronger though.

She loves to copy what we do.  Her favorite thing thing to do is blow raspberries.  Her and Carter can go on forever blowing raspberries at each other and she just thinks it's the best thing ever.  If you do something with her that she likes and then stop she will try to make the same motion with her body until you do it again.  She loves to play and giggle.

She is still in six month clothes with just a few of her nine month stuff starting to be wearable.  She is also still in size two diapers.  I love to dress her up cute with all of the matching headbands and hats.

She is not the best teether in the world.  She struggles napping and takes shorter naps when she is teething.  She has six teeth right now with another one hopefully coming soon.  She has been a bit challenging this week so I think one is coming through soon.

And now for the BIG NEWS...
SHE IS FINALLY SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!  Most of you probably know that she has always been a terrible sleeper!  I can honestly say that 90% of the time she is sleeping through the night finally.  Most nights she goes down about 7 and sleeps until about 6, eats, and then sleeps till around 8 again.  Praise Jesus!  It only took 8 1/2 months.  I thought I was going to go crazy.

And the other big news...
She no longer naps in her swing!  In fact, her swing is actually put away now!  Woohoo!  She was still taking naps in her swing up until we left for Iowa the day after Christmas.  I new we wouldn't have a swing in Iowa and decided that we would just wait until that week to ween her off of it since we would be forced to anyway.  It worked!  She napped great in the pack n play there and has not been in has not been in it since.  Another Praise Jesus!

She started crawling on her hands and knees this month too but still prefers to army crawl.  She will do it the right way sometimes but usually just prefers her old fashioned army crawl.  It gets her around quickly.

She was a pretty good traveler.  Iowa was great and she showed her happy side the whole time we were there.  She let everyone hold her and warmed her way into the hearts of our family, some of whom had never met her.  She was happy, slept great, and loved all of the attention.  She didn't love the plane ride though because she was tired and wouldn't sleep.

Madelynn Grace, you are special!  We love you!
