Jay had to work on the 4th this year but I took the kids to the parade in Independence. It was HOT! We met some friends there. We planned on walking around the other activities they had going on but it was so hot and miserable, we went home. Mason screamed the whole way home including sitting in crazy traffic trying to leave town. The kids enjoyed the parade but it was kind of a miserable event. I will not do that again without Jay!
Mason actually hated most of this event.
We had picked out a few little fireworks for ourselves and did them on our street. Our neighbors came out and joined us and it ended up being very fun. We didn't even wait until it got dark. Young kids and late night fireworks isn't a great combination.
Three month baby!
